My Journey
My wonderfully adorable baby pug puppy means the world to me and I and am positively obsessed
with her. I talk about her far too much and am proud of everything she does. I got her when she was 7 weeks (on the left is the first time I met her!!) and on the right she is 5 months old! (There is a chicken treat in her mouth that took her about an hour to eat.) |
I am 24 and live in wonderful Northern Virginia!!! I absolutely love dogs, pandas, animals in general (Check out the Owusu Cows below!), pink, Germany, crafting, and glitter! I am very girly and I am not afraid to show it. I love to travel but do not always have the budget for it! Great food is a passion of mine so I really DO understand how hard it is to stay fit in todays society. I have been interested in health for while although my interest sparked originally in Massage Therapy. I no longer practice massage professionally but I miss it every day! I was in a sorority in college so I love to craft.

A huge obstacle in health is the fact that I LOVE to bake. The kitchen constantly smells like baked goods even though it is just me and my boyfriend. I make bread, cakes, cookies, cupcakes, cake balls, ice cream, and so much more. Often, I try to bring in goods to work, my parents house, or pawn them off on friends =) That way I can still have the joy of baking without all those calories. Homemade creations are my absolute favorite. These give you perfect control over everything and if you are so inclined it can even give you the chance to create some healthier options in desserts!

My Weight and Health
The PastI was never a very thin or exceptionally fit person. Throughout middle school and high school, I danced 4-6 times a week in classes that lasted at least an hour. Although I loved dancing, I was never good enough to make a career out of it so my interest started to wean away in college when classes were advanced and a great deal of talent was needed.
I started to gain weight rapidly in High school. Nutrition was not my thing and I did not have a great nutrition foundation. Meals at home were well rounded but I had no idea of the effect food on my body. As stupid as that sounds, all I knew was that if I ate too much, eventually I would get fat. As I started to grasp a greater realization on health, calories, and fitness, my interest grew. I attended Mason and studied community health with a nutrition concentration. The more I learned, the more interested I became in trying to turn myself into a healthy human being. |
The PresentThrough my quest to find health and happiness, I tried various workout routines and fad diets that lead me to no where. I wasn't focused enough on my health to make a difference. Eventually, I was able to mentally hit a wall and start to make a difference.
In the summer of 2011 I tried the Medifast diet. I lost about 15 pounds and learned a lot along the way. I was working with people in the health field which helped me learn about health, nutrition, and more about myself. Medifast gave me a great start, but I wanted to know I could do this one my own. Since then, I have struggled back and forth to continue my healthy journey. Currently I stuck at 30 pounds lost. While this is a great start, I still have a long way to go! I have great days and not so great days and everything in between. Now, I try to eat right and exercise, just like every one else! It is hard work and takes a lot of dedication. I hope that this site can help me stay on track and focused while inspiring some others along the way! |
The FutureI hope to be what I vision in my mind. I hope to be a good influence on friends, family, and strangers. I hope to feel confident, strong, fit, and sexy. I hope that all my hard work will make a body that I am proud of. I hope for health, peace of mind, and longevity.
